In this article, I will tell you about SSD in easy way so that you and everyone can easily learn about SSD. So let's start. The full form of SSD is "Solid-State Drive". It is a storage device with a microchip attached to store data. Like the Memory Stick (a type of memory card), it also has no moving parts, it stores the data in the microchip.

Like the HDD (Hard Disk Drive), it does not have any actuator arm to read and write data from the magnetic platter to the actual location, meaning that by moving the actuator arm to read and write the data in the HDD to the location. Reached, due to which it works slow but in SSD there is an Embedded Processor which is called Controller, for to read and write data. For example, if you are given a task that a college is named "ABC college", in that college you have to search for a student named XYZ, then for this you will have to search all the departments of the college. But if you are given full information of XYZ student such as department name, roll number etc. then you can easily find that XYZ student which will be very fast work and will save your time as well. |

SSD (Solid-state Drive), also known as Solid-State Disk. This is a non-volatile storage device that stores the data forever, meaning that when you turn off the computer, there will be no data loss from this storage device.

SSD disk drive is designed for faster Input / Output performance. This storage device is designed for heavy read and random workload.

What is HDD? SSD vs HDD

Friends, if you are using computer or laptop, then you must have heard about HDD, but do you keep full information about it, if not, then I will tell you about it in easy language, so that you can tell anyone anywhere Can easily explain about it. So let's start.

The full form of HDD is "Hard-Disk Drive". It is a non-volatile storage device and its stores the data for a long period of time. Non-volatile means "invariant" that means a storage device that can store data for a long time or we can say that it will store the data forever until we delete it.

Made of Hard Disk Metal (Aluminum), on which a thin layer of Magnetic Material is mounted. It consists of number of circular plates which are connected with the help of a cylinder. It works to read and write data by disk move or spin, that is, to store data. All circular plates are combined with magnetic heads (read / write head), in which a moving disk arm or actuator arm is arranged to read and write data from the circular plates to the circular plates.

If we have to increase the storage capacity of hard disk, for that we increase the number of circular plates. It accesses the data sequentially as well as accesses the data in a random-manner meaning that it can also retrieve the data of an individual block and store the data in an individual block.

So far, the rotation speed of the hard disk means that the speed of reading and writing the data by moving is from 5200 to 15000 RPM (Rotation per minute). Hard Disk drive was first introduced by IBM in 1956. By the 1960s, hard disk drive became the major secondary storage device for all general-purpose computers.

It provides very high storage capacity at very cheap rates, although the price of SSD is very high according to the storage capacity.
